3. Last Newsletter we asked you to send us your questions regarding the neuroscience of Permanent Self-Motivation. The response was overwhelming! We have a ton of fantastic questions. Therefore we have answered below as many as space permits, AND we have listed some questions only, that we want you the readers to send us YOUR IDEAS and ANSWERS! We will publish some of the best answers, with free bonus gifts for the subscriber's answers next Issue! And post some of my answers to those additional questions as well. 4. Call for Comments. We have provided below, as best we can, the answers to some of you, our subscribers most pressing questions about Neuroscience research and the science of permanent self-motivation, achievement and success. Vince Lombardi said, "Fatigue makes cowards of us all." Is there some neuroscience to explain why we tend to have more ANTZ when we are tired? And is there a solution to this? Submitted by Frederic Martin, Clermont Ferrand, France A. YES and YES! First, do not forget that our nonconscious brain by evolutionary survival requirements (see past Newsletters) overemphasizes the negative. This means that our negative thought neurons fire more easily and can go down the negative neurode patterns much easier when we lack the greater energy needed to travel the positive road. BUT this is only because we have been down the negative road so many more times. Solution #1. Practice, practice, practice the Science for Success Techniques, especially S4S Technique #2 "Stomp the ANTZ", so that the positive neurons can fire as easily as the negative thoughts. [See past Newsletters & the TeleSeminar Series of CDs, "Motivation Automation". Information Also, secondly, don't forget that the brain cannot store energy. Therefore, we must constantly supply the brain with water and nutrients and rest to function at our highest levels. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 2. Q. Do those subliminal tapes that you can get to learn while you sleep, really work? Submitted by Dan Scott, Portsmouth, United Kingdom A. NO and YES! This past January, I attended the Brain Learning Exposition in San Diego. At that Conference, the results of some very serious and lengthy research on this subject was presented. Based on the latest brain neuron impulse measuring equipment, the results of the study indicate that auditory impulses taken in during sleep, DO NOT enter the cerebral cortex, but rather are turned back away from the cortex. Therefore, such impulses cannot be stored in the brain's memory centers. HOWEVER, is is also a research finding that the conscious brain (cortex) is most receptive to "pure" neuron impulses when we are in a very relaxed state, similar to the state we are in, during the 15 minutes just before we fall asleep. Conclusion, subliminal tapes work well for the 15 minutes just before we fall asleep, but have someone turn off the tape player when we fall asleep. Save the batteries. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 3. Q. I am trying to lose weight. I know one of my problems is that I just eat too much. How do I positively tell myself to not eat so much? Even saying I will eat less seems like a negative statement to me. Submitted by Lindsay Hopper, Twin Creek Farms A. Great Question, Lindsay! When you are training your brain for weight control by using Science for Success Technique #4 "Innerstates", you will learn that the nonconscious brain SEES IN PICTURES. Further the noncon cannot filter out the negative words or double meanings. Only your conscious brain can do that. Therefore when you tell yourself, "I will not overeat!", you are sending the clear message (picture) to 5/6th of your brain, "OVEREAT" That is NOT good! Your Innerstates (affirmations) must be in the present tense, and in the form of a positive positive, not the future tense or a negative positive. On our TeleSeminar CD we give you several proper forms for these affirmations and one of my favorites is. "I am fit and thin because I eat healthy foods!" We have had students lose over 70 pounds just by using that Innerstate and with no special diet. Do not try to LOSE weight or anything else! Change the way you think! Win not lose! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 4. Q. I am 38 years old and my native language is not English, it is Hebrew. Should I apply your methods in my native language or in English? I have very good English. Submitted by Micky Snir, USA A. Another great question. See our answer to the above question. Your nonconscious mind; the most powerful portion of your brain, sees things in pictures only. It doesn't see in words of any language. If I asked you to close your eyes and think about what you did for the first 15 minutes after you got up this morning, you would "think" of this in pictures. You would not see words on a page in either English or Hebrew. Therefore, just use whatever language is most comfortable for you to paint your pictures of success! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 5. Q. (a) I know neuroscience works for motivation and success, but at the moment I cannot afford any of your products. Do you suggest anything at all so I can get started learning the science of Self-Motivation? Submitted by Patricia Maymir, Seal Beach, California (b) I am a SchoolMaster in England. Which of your products for learning success are suitable for 12-18 year-old students. Submitted by Wayne Jenkins, Leeds, United Kingdom A. Both are good related questions. First, I personally think our schools have been terribly remiss in not including coursework in the curriculum that teaches young people to set goals, overcome obstacles, and reach greater levels of achievement by self-motivation techniques based on the latest neuroscience research findings! Q. I am just starting to read your Newsletter, which I find very interesting. I hope to come to one of your Seminars in the near future. In reading one of your book reviews on MIND MANAGEMENT, by Dennis Deaton, you stated that the ultimate Secret to the Science for Success is on page 166-169 of that book! What is that Secret? Submitted by Seymour Wasserstrum, Vineland, New Jersey A. Very good book. Very good question. Deaton states that the conscious brain commands and the nonconscious brain takes orders. The nonconscious brain has 5/6th of ALL your brain's power because it works 24/7, but it works only on things previously designated and stipulated by prior activity in the conscious brain. WHATEVER THE CONSCIOUS MIND DWELLS ON, THE NONCONSCIOUS BRAIN ACTS ON! Your noncon goes to work designing solutions and pathways forward, based on specific directed objectives from your conscious brain. It's genius works constantly and automatically! So much so that we take it for granted and do not fully exercise its enormous powers. Think of it: SECRET-SECRET-SECRET! You can focus your attention on any subject you wish--select any topic, any subject--and by pondering and thinking upon it, you can call forth light and insight and answers on that precise issue! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I NEED YOUR HELP! What is your opinion regarding the use of brain neurotransmitter-effecting drugs such as Prozac? Are they harmful to the brain connections? (V Kline, California) 8. Q. My 9 yr old son has ADHD and was wondering if the new brain plasticity research has led to breakthroughs in the treatment of ADD?
